In a couple of weeks you will be voting for who will be the Forest of Dean's MP.It's clear that you won't be voting to pick the PM or the Government,Keir Starmer will be PM , Labour will have a huge majoritySunak and the Tories will implode and probably be subject of a takeover bid by Mr Farages Reform party.
These things are all odds on to happen, no doubt.
So here in the Forest , we can take the view of instead of voting for who would be the best representative for the Forest of Dean in Westminster and who deserves your vote. We need real representation , that is clear.
So here with some observations on the pros and cons of each candidate from and Independent view point and with a little knowledge of some of the candidates :close up!
Harper Conservative ……... .Awful gaffes in terms of the proposed Forest sell off is something that to many will be unforgivable.Failiure to engage with support for Dilke and Lydney hospitals has also been an issue. Apparent poor record of replying to constituents emails and letter.Rather elusive and closely linked to Sunak government.
But
Long term experienced MP, knows the job, has brought major government funding into the Forest, could potentially be a loud and confident voice speaking up for the Forest of Dean without the constraints of government.

But
No experience, . Part of a Labour Group that has supported giving the Greens the administration in the FOD , in the Green cabinet in all but name and has turned their back on delivery of the CNQ development which has been a Labour pledge in Cinderford for years.Supported a budget increasing car park charges and the reduction in affordable home delivery.
Macfarling Green- Passionate environmentalist, knowledgeable about Green issues, Brings climate emergency into every subject. nice line in cagoule
But
Driving a fossil fueled car everywhere, part of a seriously failing Green Cabinet, has cost County Council £££ in foolish objections to planning applications. Sacked from previous administration for refusing to listen to public view on single settlement proposal near Churcham.
Joyce Lib Dem paper candidate. Why dont Lib Dems ever take the Forest of Dean seriously.
Goodwin - Reform no information to hand
Sikder- Socialist Labour no information to hand
The Tories are in meltdown as the country lurches from disaster to disaster, Keir Starmers Labour is more like diet tory, Both manifestos will lead to the poorest still struggling. The Greens are so damaging when they get anywhere near power and the Lib Dems dont care enough to even run areal campaign. Reform haven't put a local up and choose instead to drop someone in.
